Passport and visa requirements |
Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain a Korean visa. Visitors with round-trip tickets from countries who have a special agreement with Korea may be exempt from the visa requirement, and can stay in Korea visa-free for periods up to 30 days, or 90 days, depending on the type of agreement between two countries.
Korea has agreements with over 160 countries for no-visa entry. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Korea respects the IMU stance on the freedom of academic exchanges, and will make every effort to expedite the issuance of travel visas to bona-fide registered participants of SEOUL ICM.
When uncertain as to the requirement for entry visa to Korea, please contact the Korean embassy or a consulate as early as possible. For more information, visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Homepage: http://www.mofat.go.kr
